Office of Dave Martin, COH Councillor District E

Our office would like to share details relating to a Forest Cove specific project and ask that you share this information with residents of your community. On Friday, May 20 a City of Houston contractor (American Road Maintenance) will begin to conduct on-site cleaning of the roadways in the Forest Cove subdivision as well as Hamblen Road in preparation of an asphalt sealer project. The contractor is expected to be on-site street sealing beginning on Monday, May 23 and finish this project by Tuesday, May 31, weather permitting. The east and west streets will be completed first followed by the north and south streets.

Door hangers will be placed on doors 72 hours before the sealing operations begin on each street. The sealing will be completed between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. If you have a special event like a garage sale, reception/party, appointment, etc. during the days that the sealing will occur please contact Phil Martinez at 630-514-2889 to see if other arrangements can be made.

It is important to be mindful that when you see cones on the street one side of the street is still wet. DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS WET emulsion treatment into your driveway as you will track wet product onto your driveway. Wait until cones are picked up before you enter your driveway. Should you get the emulsion product on your vehicle WD-40 will remove the emulsion. However, if product gets stuck on your vehicle please contact the contractor at 630-514-2889 and they will make arrangements to clean off the product.

Best regards,

Good News: Water Receding.

Forest Cove San Jacinto water levelsThe water from the swollen San Jacinto river seems to be receding. As of Thursday 9:45pm the level had dropped by two feet compared to yesterday, Wednesday, April 20.

For some though the damage has already been done, although it seems for the most part Forest Cove residents fared well despite diverted traffic. If you are a Forest Cove resident and you suffered property damage post a comment or get in touch with the POA.
