FCPOA Public Meeting 12/17/2021 Participants: Joy S, Wade H, Randy K, Deb V, Stephanie C, Matt T, Steve A, Cameron W The meeting was called to order at 7:32pm by President Joy Sadler A motion was made and passed to accept the minutes as written Financial Report – Wade H. Financial report not available from accounting firm. President’s Report – Joy S. The water meter was re-installed at the pool, and backflow meters were installed at the pool and civic center. These meters are now required equipment. Also a new electricity provider contract was negotiated for a 54 month period. Committee Reports: ACC – Wade H. – no new issues to report Deed Restrictions – Deb V. – many trailers reported this month, letters sent to property owners Safety & Security – Matt T. – no PIP meeting this month, 1 incident of a car break-in reported with laptop stolen Building & Grounds – Steve A. – water remains off at the Civic Center due to leaks Pool – Randy K. – Tree Service cleared out shrubs around the pool, looks great. Pool itself close to being back to normal Marina – Randy K. – road base material dropped for free, will work on improving the road to the Marina, good news in that no dumping has occurred lately. Super Neighborhood Council -Randy K. - Harris County flood control will be doing a diversion ditch study Drainage – Cameron W. – no news to report Legal – Joy S. – no news, currently waiting for an answer in response to our lawsuit filing. Some Forest Cove board members met with the golf course owner to discuss issues; the outcome of the meeting was sent to attorney. Legal fees are large, a GoFundMe has been set up, reach out to Traci M. for details. Residents may contribute to the fund or send a check to Joy S. for help with legal fees. Resident Comments and Concerns: residents discussed the increase in property owner’s fees, why and what will it be used for? The increase ($25.00 per house) will go towards the $25,000 deficit. Community bills include property and liability insurance, accountant fees, mowers, water and electric bills, and the pool (30-40% of budget). Residents requested that the next time fees are increased to please send a notice advising residents before statements are received.
